40/52 The Watch

Most of the time when I find a scene to photograph I move around a lot, taking many photos, looking for the best angle to take the photo from.  It can sometimes be a long process and it doesn’t always work out in the final image.  Not so with this scene.  I knew as soon as I drove up, what I wanted the final image to look like.  I took my time capturing the images and spent quite a while processing this image in the hopes of coming out with what I had envisioned at the time of capture.  In the end, I’m happy to say, I’m very pleased with the final...

26/52 From Our House to Yours

The kids tell me I’m lucky because my “half birthday” falls on Boxing Day!  They try to convince my wife and I that because I get presents exactly 6 months after my actual birthday they should get presents on their “half birthdays” too!  I think they have too much time on their hands. 5/52 Castle Butte

As part of our holidays this year we traveled to southern Saskatchewan and took in the Gateway Music Festival in Bengough Saskatchewan.  The weather was a little cool but the music was great and we had a wonderful time. Just south of Bengough is Castle Butte, a 60m tall rock formation made up of mostly sandstone.  We were able to explore some of the caves around the base and climb to the top.  About half way up there is a trail that goes right around and this is the view to the North.  I had some trouble with this image and couldn’t decide which I like better, the color or B&W...
