52/52 The End

Wow!  Hard to believe it’s already been a year since I started Project 52/40!  And it’s been an interesting year too.  I started this project to grow as a photographer, challenge myself and learn a few things along the way.  Here are just a few… I’ve learned that photos can be made anywhere. I’ve learned that I have to be in a creative frame of mind to get good results. I’ve learned that the best camera is the one you have with you. I’ve learned that my “style” changes a lot I’ve...

51/52 Tobin Storm

This was taken last weekend at Tobin Lake on our annual Father’s Day fishing trip.  This year’s trip included the usual suspects as well as my 10 year old son for the first time.  It was a great weekend with lots of laughs and some good fishing.  But the highlight by far, was watching my son catch some big fish. 50/52 American Goldfinch

I was going to post a simple photo of a finch that I had taken a couple weeks ago at Eagle Lake.  I liked the yellow bird against the clear blue sky but I just wasn’t happy with the overall look I was getting.  So I decided to get a little more creative with the image and try something new.  I kinda like the look. Buy this...

49/52 The Fort View

Last week I went on a field trip to Fort Carlton and Batoche with my son’s grade 4 class.  It was a great day and the kids a great time despite the rainy weather.  On our tour of Fort Carlton we took a walk around the upper walkway to view the fort and surrounding area from above.   This was the view of the meadow around the fort from that walkway.   Buy this...

48/52 Spring Storm

This was taken last week after a spring thunder storm grazed Saskatoon.  We didn’t end up getting much rain from this particular storm but I’m sure someone sure did. Buy this photo!

47/52 Truck #14

Last weekend while we were camping I was talking to a friend about Project 52/40.  He’s a crew chief on a Pro Truck team at Auto Clearing Motor Speedway and he invited me out to take some photos of a practice night this week.  I’ve never shot a motor sport before but it was a lot of fun.  It was a real challenge with only one truck on the track I can’t imagine 15 or 20 but it’s something I’d like to try.  Hopefully I can make it out on a race day this season.  Thanks to Garry, Wade and the crew for...

46/52 Breakup

Well I’m about a week behind in posting photos for Project 52/40.  Things have been really busy with kids activities and quite frankly, I find spring not very photogenic.  Everything is grey and brown but I did manage to find some images last weekend while on our first camping trip.  Hope you like it. Buy this...

43/52 Bighorn

Sorry folks, I’m a little late posting this last weeks photo.  But I have a good excuse – we spent the whole week in Banff!  It was great to get away from everything for a while and just have some family time.  But I did manage to get out a few times to take some photos.  One of the last days of the trip I took a drive up the road to Norquay and found these Bighorn Sheep.  They were not far off the road munching on some grass and were very relaxed for this very amateur wildlife photographer. Buy this...
